PLEASE NOTE:
The water may show discoloration for a few hours after flushing. Do not consume or use the water for cooking until the water clears up. The water can be used for bathing and dishes. The brown color is iron from the bottom of the water lines. However, the iron may stain white clothes. We recommend not washing white clothing during the time your area of town will be flushed. If whites become discolored during wash cycle, call the Jefferson Water Department to get a special detergent that will remove the iron BEFORE you dry the whites. Customers may experience lower pressure when the Water Department is flushing,
